Dying to see you !
Victorian Death Post Mortem & Mourning Photo Exhibition
July 12th at TearDrop Memories North Fork Pet Antiques

Was A Rousing Success!!

Over 300 visitors passed through our doors and were fascinated
by the glimpse of the Victorian Mourning photos & history.

Victorian public speaker & re-enactor Lisa Lewis, aka
Victoriana Lady, braved the near 90 degree heat dressed
in full Victorian Mourning Widows Weeds at the exhibit.

Victorian woman dressed in long sleeves, long skirts and hats
in 1900 whether the temperature was 30 degrees, or 90 degrees,
Lewis explained to the crowd.
She sure is authentic in her re-enacting!

Ms.  Lewis, noted professional 19th century re-enactor, and member of the National Registry Of Living Historians Traveling Victorian Fashion Museum can be seen online at www.victorianalady.com

Other highlights included a decadent chocolate cake shaped like a toe pincher coffin, part of a dessert contest in New Hope PA.

The rare original 19th century Funeral photography show and sale in
New Hope Pa. was sponsored by Post Mortem Gallery TearDrop Memories. Highlights of this thought provoking morbid exhibition; antique Daguerreotype photos,
some as early as 1850, plus Cabinet Cards, C.D.V. etc, all with a Death and Mourning theme.

Post Mortem tributes, graphic, yet so often artistic depictions of dead people, are as old as art itself.
Many of TearDrop Memories exhibition images may be seen on their web shop www.teardropmemories.com

Designed to compliment the
New Hope Chamber Of Commerce, Second Saturdays monthly event,
this historic antique photo show on Mechanic Street will surely leave an impression.
