I am a Taphophile. Taphophilia includes gravestone rubbings, cemetery photography, art, epitaphs and the history of famous deaths.
I could spend hours, and usually do, walking through old cemeteries in search of beautiful artwork on gravestones.
Some people stop for yard sales while driving. I want to stop at every old cemetery!
Perhaps being an art major has something to do with my fascination with granite carvings.
Here is a collection of sculpture in granite from local turn of the century cemeteries.
For those interested in Gothic & Victorian Mourning rituals, dress, strange causes of death, stories of premature burial and more, you can book me for a Victorian Mourning Program.
Great for Halloween parties or Gothic parties all year round!
